This successor to the Advisory Commission on Maryland Wine and Grape Growing was created to manage the Maryland Alcohol Manufacturing Promotion Fund and requires the Department to award certain grants from the Fund for certain purposes.

Studies and makes recommendations concerning the membership, purpose and function of an entity or strategy to govern the renovation, revitalization, financing, ongoing maintenance and management of the Baltimore Convention site and certain surrounding areas.

Comprised of Maryland Secretaries of commerce-related agencies, the Subcabinet advises the Governor on proposals to enhance the state’s business climate.

Coordinates the planning and implementation of activities and events to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Maryland.

Supports the state's biotechnology and ​h​ealth IT industry sectors​.

Created to promote innovation in the fields of space exploration and commercial aerospace opportunities, including the integration of space, aeronautics, and aviation industries into the economy of the State.

Implements the Maryland E-Nnovation Initiative Fund,​ a program that supports Maryland's nonprofit institutions of higher education.

Created to be the Moore-Miller Administration’s center for analyzing and recommending economic policies to foster job growth, build the State’s workforce, and create regulatory environment that allows business to grow and thrive.

Establishes policies to create a competitive economic climate for business growth.

Assess Maryland’s existing assets, opportunities, and competitiveness within the film, television, and entertainment industry to support the infrastructure and workforce surrounding the sector.

The Maryland Industrial Development Financing Authority (MIDFA) and the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund (MEDAAF) are both served by the same Authority members. For MIDFA, the Authority reviews and approves financing transactions being issued as private activity bonds and loan guarantees; for MEDAAF, the Authority reviews and approves loans to support economic development initiatives​.

Advises the Maryland Secretary of Commerce on ways to encourage new and expanding manufacturing enterprises in Maryland.

Develops a state branding strategy, markets the state’s assets, and encourages the location and growth of new businesses in Maryland.

Identifies infrastructure and community support needed to develop the State's military installations.

Promotes the viability and expansion of businesses owned by disadvantaged entrepreneurs.

Advances the arts in Maryland by providing leadership that champions creative expression, diverse programming, equitable access, lifelong learning, and the arts as a celebrated contributor to the quality of life for all the people of Maryland.

Guides activities to develop and market the state as a destination.

Studies and makes recommendations regarding bilateral trade relations and investment opportunities between Maryland and Ireland.

Manages artwork commissions in state-owned buildings, growing and maintaining the state’s collection of public art that reflects and uplifts Maryland’s cultures and communities.
